The CO2 Laser is a skin treatment that employs energy powered and modulated by carbon dioxide. It allows for the removal of skin imperfections with precisely targeted results on thin layers of the skin without damaging the surrounding tissues.
The CO2 Laser eliminates skin imperfections such as fine wrinkles, crow’s feet, blemishes, freckles, scars, warts, birthmarks, open pores, and saggy skin, among others. It also generates healthy skin and stimulates the production of collagen.
The doctors apply the CO2 laser treatment in the office, targeting specific points of imperfections. You can have a mild anesthetic to avoid discomfort. The treatment last between 15 to 20 minutes, and the required time for preparation.
The number of sessions depends on the condition of the patient. The physician performs a physical exam on the patient’s skin and determines the sessions needed and their frequency. Regularly, they apply three to four sessions.
The Co2 Laser does not use chemicals applied to the skin, because it consists of laser energy exposure to the skin. Peeling can be effective in eliminating skin blemishes.
Don’t expose yourself to the sun or apply other skin treatments or lotions for at least a week. The doctor will recommend you sunblock lotions for proper skin care.
